Q&A General

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Fishers Lane Conference Center and Bio-Visualization Lab Audiovisual Upgrades

Solicitation ID: RFQ-NIAID-2102124 1/6/2022

I. GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q1: Have the GFE UPS devices had batteries replaced in the last three years?

A1: The batteries and units are less than 3 years old.

Q2: The GFE Polycom Group codecs for LD51 show the model as the series 700 on the spreadsheet, but drawing TA604.0 shows series 500. Can you clarify which model?

A2: NIAID will be supplying a Polycom Group series 700. There is also only one CODEC as noted in the bid form. Please reference prebuild drawing TA-308 for the intended VTC configuration.

There are differences between the TA600 series (consultant design intent set) and the TA-300 series (NIAID prebuild engineering set).

Q3: For these GFE Polycom codecs has the maintenance agreement with Polycom been maintained or has it lapsed?

A3: The Polycom codecs are under maintenance and have been maintained. NIAID handles license agreement directly with Polycom, as part of an enterprise deployment.

Q4: We are officially requesting a one week bid extension, please let us know if that will be granted.

A4: NIAID will extend response deadline to Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 12:00 pm EST.

Q5: Who is the general contractor?

A5: Davis Construction

Q6: Who is the electrical contractor?

A6: Cabling Systems, Inc. is providing the structured network cabling. FB Harding is the electrical contractor.

Q7: It appears that Blair Parker is the AV consultant for some of the systems and Allan Rea filled the role of the consultant for some of the systems. Will there be a need for two consultant punch out visits at the end of the project? In other words how much time should the bidders allow for consultant punch out?

A7: The AV contractor will have one punch out list at the end of the project. No extra time is needed for consultant punch as the vendors role is to supply installation and configuration
