(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (BRIEF SCOPE, SIZE, COST, ETC.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
Nutrient flux from sediments that have deposited in the Indian River Lagoon has resulted in a significant decline in seagrasses. Septic system leachate, fertilizer application and stormwater runoff are among the contributing factors to the muck sediments. Brevard County and other stakeholders are pursuing dredging projects to remove these harmful deposits. GHD conducted field work on board a coring vessel to assist with the vibracore sampling of the sediments in the Project Areas of Brevard County. In addition to the sediment samples, GHD collected surface water samples at each of the vibracore sample locations using a Van Dorn style sampler and collected in-situ turbidity, temperature, conductivity and salinity measurements. Role: Sr. Geotechnical Engineer d.
