2. VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Vehicle Design Requirements

The vehicle’s mobile deployment goal defines the design and minimum chassis performance standard requirements. As mentioned, the vehicle will be a self-propelled truck-body vehicle with an enclosed modular body area (defined in section 3).

Furthermore, due to quick maintenance turn-around, locally experienced maintenance mechanics, and availably of replacement parts, preference is given to a vehicle that is manufactured in the United States. The sub-sections below define the vehicle’s design and performance requirements.

The Mobile Emergency Operations Center (Type 1) shall be delivered within three (3) years from the date of the notice to proceed. The vehicle design must be approved by the authorized representatives of the State of Rhode Island prior to manufacturing the vehicle.

Itemized Technology & Systems Breakout The State will verify the quality and capability of the onboard systems.

· Power & Climate Control: Generator make/model, inverter systems, and HVAC units.

· Communications Infrastructure: Pneumatic mast systems, satellite uplink hardware, cellular aggregation routers, and public safety radio integration modules.

· Audio/Video & Operations: Matrix switchers, external and internal monitors, PTZ camera systems, and dispatch console furniture.

2.2. General Chassis Specification

The definition of single source is a manufacturer that designs and manufactures their products using an integrated approach, including the chassis, cab weldment, cab, pumphouse (including the sheet metal enclosure, valve controls, piping and operators panel) and body being designed, fabricated and assembled on the bidder's premises. The electrical system (hardwire or multiplex) shall be both designed and integrated by the same apparatus manufacturer. The warranties relative to these major components (excluding component warranties such as engine, transmission, axles, pump, etc.) must be from a single source manufacturer and not split between manufacturers (i.e. body, pumphouse, cab weldment and chassis). The bidder shall provide evidence that they comply with this requirement.
