About this file

This file is an RFP Attachment providing detailed instructions for Receiving and Weekly Report tracking for a 5.56mm ammunition production contract. The document outlines precise reporting requirements for contractors, including mandatory tracking of ammunition lot production across multiple DODICs (Department of Defense Identification Codes): A059 (M885 Clipped Mil Pack), A062 (M885 Linked), A080 (M200 Carton Pack), AB56 (M855A1 Linked), AB57 (M855A1 Clipped Mil Pack), and AB77 (M855A1 Clipped Bulk Pack). Contractors must meticulously document production dates, lot quantities, DD250 documentation, and monthly production status, with specific instructions for formatting entries such as date representation (DD-MMM-YY), lot number formatting, and tracking cumulative production variances throughout the government fiscal year.

The associated federal contract opportunity is a Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Small Caliber Second Source ammunition supplier, seeking to produce 5.56mm, 7.62mm, and Caliber .50 ammunition. The acquisition is a restricted competition limited to the United States, its outlying areas, or Canada, with a requirement that the supplier be geographically separated from the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. The Draft RFP is currently in a feedback phase, with industry comments requested by July 18, 2025, and the final RFP scheduled for release in August 2025. The solicitation is being managed by the Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command at Rock Island Arsenal.
