About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to RFP 2425-116 for a Wireless Voice Communication System issued by a school district in Oregon on March 24, 2025. The addendum addresses 50 questions from potential proposers regarding system requirements and clarifies the scope of the solicitation. The district is seeking a wireless wearable communication system with both basic (80%) and advanced (20%) functionality capabilities, including voice communication, text messaging, emergency notification features, and location identification for authorized advanced users. The system must integrate with Google Workspace or Active Directory for identity provider authentication, support paging capabilities without integration to existing systems, and enable cellular device alert notifications for executive-level personnel. The district does not require desk phones, conference phones, video conference phones, analog device support, call recording, contact center solutions, call center functionality, or existing phone system integration. The system must operate on Wi-Fi networks and include the capability for authorized users to call 911 from wearable devices. The district is seeking district-wide integrated communication infrastructure rather than school-by-school solutions and prefers procuring equipment upfront rather than leasing options.

The addendum confirms the district has no existing Microsoft 365 licenses, currently uses Google for email hosting, and is not replacing a similar existing system. System coverage is focused on district facilities and select locations including schools, community centers, bus barns, and the school district administrative building. The district is open to alternative pricing models and has not established a specific budget for upfront, monthly, or annual costs. Proposers are encouraged to include recommendations for accessories and to describe system capabilities for optional features such as student reunification platforms and integration with district computers, though these are not required. The single point of contact for the procurement is Gustavo Chavez, Senior Purchasing Specialist, at Chavezcardenasg@nclack.k12.or.us.
