About this file

This document is a specifications sheet for the 2022 Great Lakes Enforcement Unit Patrol Boat prepared by the William Alden Smith Vessel for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The specifications detail comprehensive upgrades and replacements for an enforcement patrol boat, including structural repairs, mechanical upgrades, and equipment installations. Key components to be replaced or updated include two Cummins marine diesel engines (QSC-8.3L 500mhp each), hydraulic steering system, transmissions, all electrical wiring and outlets, navigation and communication equipment, interior seating with three Bentley Mariner shock-mitigating seats, galley appliances and fixtures, head facilities, windows, hoses and lines, propeller shafts, and deck lighting. Additional work includes exterior and interior repainting, refinishing non-skid deck coating, installing LED flood lights and searchlights, adding a Whelen light bar and siren speaker system, and replacing HVAC systems with updated heating and air conditioning. The vessel must be delivered to the service area no later than November 1 and returned to water by May 1, unless an alternate agreement is established.

The specifications do not address pricing terms, set-asides, or incumbent information. A credit for trade-in of two Pre-Tier 4 Caterpillar Model 3126 diesel engines (420HP each) is specified as part of the equipment replacement. The document provides detailed manufacturer and model requirements for most components, including specific brands such as Norcold refrigeration, Raritan sanitation systems, Glendinning electronic throttles, Arc Electronics searchlights, Kahlenberg navigational horns, Whelen audio and lighting systems, and Raymarine AIS equipment. No funding sources, amounts, or contract duration information is included in this specifications document.
