This is a vessel specifications document for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Great Lakes Enforcement Unit outlining comprehensive renovation and upgrade requirements for the Ransom H. Hill patrol boat. The specifications detail extensive modifications across multiple systems and components, including exterior and interior repainting with non-skid deck refinishing, replacement of two Bentley Mariner shock-mitigating seats, and complete galley upgrades featuring a new Norcold NR 715 AC/DC refrigerator, stainless steel sink, and marine-grade faucet. Additional specifications encompass replacement of the head system with a new Raritan toilet equivalent, complete electrical rewiring throughout the vessel, replacement of all window seals and portholes, and full water line replacement with new through-haul fittings. The document specifies the replacement of dual Cummins QSB-5.9L diesel engines with Cummins Marine Diesel QSB-6.7L engines rated at 425 horsepower each at 3000 RPM, including transmission replacement and trade-in credit for the pre-Tier 4 engines. Additional major upgrades include replacement of all hoses and lines, installation of new law enforcement decals and Conservation Officer lettering, inspection and replacement of prop shafts and shaft bearings, replacement of the hydraulic steering system with SeaStar ISO 9001 equivalent, installation of four LED flood lights (Rigid Industries SR-Q Series), replacement of navigational horn with Kahlenberg Model K-380, installation of Garmin Reactor 40 autopilot with Garmin AIS 800 transceiver, Pro Mariner battery charging system upgrades, addition of two backup bilge pumps rated at 2000 GPH, installation of Bennett trim tabs, addition of air conditioning to the HVAC system, replacement of grey and fresh water holding tanks with new Kracor units of equivalent capacity, and updates to dashboard gauges for both engines and generator. The specifications provide detailed component models and part numbers for most major items and include provisions for either engine replacement or rebuilding as cost alternatives.
