About this file

This specification document outlines vessel renovation and upgrade requirements for the 2022 Great Lakes Enforcement Unit patrol boat operated by Michigan DNR. The project encompasses comprehensive modernization across multiple systems including exterior refinishing, interior upgrades, and advanced navigation and safety equipment installation. Key specifications include replacing cabin seating with two Bentley Mariner shock-mitigating seats, installing a new Norcold refrigerator and marine-grade galley fixtures, upgrading the head with a new Raritan toilet system and stainless steel sink, and completely replacing all electrical wiring and outlets throughout the vessel. The vessel requires replacement of propulsion systems including inspection and repair of prop shafts, replacement of shaft bearings, and engine rebuilding rather than replacement of the port and starboard Yanmar 6LY2A diesel engines. Delivery requirements specify that boats must be returned to the water no later than May 1, with haul-out occurring no later than November 1, unless alternate agreements are made to complete all work.

Advanced navigation and safety equipment specifications include two twelve-inch Raymarine Axion Pro RVX multi-function displays, Raymarine Evolution autopilot systems, AIS transceiver capability, quantum radar, LED navigation lighting systems, a Whelen Cenator light bar with blue single-color capability, and a Kahlenberg air horn. Additional upgrades address vessel structural integrity and environmental systems including replacement of all water lines and through-haul fittings, new hatch seals, replacement of all fuel and exhaust lines, engine room insulation and sound dampening upgrades, updated HVAC with air conditioning capability, new battery charging systems using Pro Mariner equipment, and replacement of bilge pumps with addition of two backup units rated at 2000 gallons per hour. The specification document does not provide pricing information, funding amounts, or contract award details.
