About this file
This document is a response to vendor questions for RFP# SDSU12202023 for University Housing/Residence Life Facilities Laundry Equipment & Services. The RFP is issued by three South Dakota Board of Regents universities: Dakota State University, Northern State University, and South Dakota State University. The universities are seeking proposals for a multi-year agreement to provide free-to-use laundry services and equipment for their on-campus residence life facilities. The RFP addresses questions about the ownership of existing laundry equipment, ADA requirements, planned new residence halls, and the number of resident students in each campus housing facility.
The RFP indicates that the majority of laundry machines at the universities are owned by an outside company, with the universities only owning machines in certain houses. The universities are interested in a single ADA-compliant washer and dryer on the first floor of specified laundry rooms across the campuses. There are currently no plans for new residence halls at Dakota State University, although the university is at 96% occupancy for fall 2023. The document provides a breakdown of the number of resident students in each campus housing facility.
