EMSL maintains liability limited to cost of analysis. Interpretation and use of test results are the responsibility of the client. This report relates only to the samples reported above, and may not be reproduced, except in full, without written approval by EMSL. EMSL bears no responsibility for sample collection activities or analytical method limitations. The report reflects the samples as received.

Results are generated from the field sampling data (sampling volumes and areas, locations, etc.) provided by the client on the Chain of Custody. Samples are within quality control criteria and met method specifications unless otherwise noted. The above analyses were performed in general compliance with Appendix E to Subpart E of 40 CFR (previously EPA 600/M4-82-020 “Interim Method”) but augmented with procedures outlined in the 1993 (”final”) version of the method. This report must not be used by the client to claim product certification, approval, or endorsement by NVLAP, NIST or any agency of the federal government. Non-friable organically bound materials present a problem matrix and therefore EMSL recommends gravimetric reduction prior to analysis. Unless requested by the client, building materials manufactured with multiple layers (i.e. linoleum, wallboard, etc.) are reported as a single sample. Estimation of uncertainty is available on request.

Samples analyzed by EMSL Analytical, Inc. Plymouth, MI NVLAP Lab Code 101048-4

Inspection Report for Building R4

Building R4 is a residential type, slab on grade structure covering approximately 1,000 ft2. Exterior materials include concrete block, brick, cedar shake siding over tar paper, and asphalt shingles.

The roof system is a wood framed, pitched roof. Interior materials include drywall, vinyl floor tile, vinyl cove base, exposed fiberglass thermal system insulation, and cellulose attic insulation.

There is one exterior electrical service pole and one radio/television antennae associated with Building R4

SAMPLING RESULTS – ASBESTOS

TriMedia collected a total of 13 samples (consisting of 18 material layers) from Building 4 of suspect asbestos-containing materials to be submitted for laboratory analysis.

Asbestos was detected at concentrations above the regulatory limit for Asbestos Containing Material in the following:

223340R-04-10 Window Glazing 2% Chrysotile

223340R-04-11 Exterior Caulk 7% Chrysotile

223340R-04-12 Exterior Tar Paper 0.25% Chrysotile

ACM window glazing is associated with two windows on the north side of the building. ACM exterior caulk is associated with the junction point between exterior brick and exterior wood. Exterior tar paper is associated with cedar shake siding and may be present behind red bead board around window systems.

Complete analytical laboratory results have been enclosed for your records. Sampled materials, locations and analytical results have been summarized in Table 1: Materials Sampled and Found to Not Contain Asbestos and Table 2: Materials Sampled and Found to Contain Asbestos.

EMSL maintains liability limited to cost of analysis . Interpretation and use of test results are the responsibility of the client. This report relates only to the samples reported above, and may not be reproduced, except in full, without written approval by EMSL. EMSL bears no responsibility for sample collection activities or analytical method limitations .

Non- friable organically bound materials present a problem matrix and therefore EMSL recommends gravimetric reduction prior to analysis . Unless requested by the client, building materials manufactured with multiple layers (i.e. linoleum, wallboard, etc.) are reported as a single sample. Estimation of uncertainty is available on request.
