Introduction and Scope Introduction The pulsed septum magnet for the Advanced Photon Source Upgrade (APS-U) Project will steer an injected 6 GeV electron beam into the stored beam of the Storage Ring (SR). The magnet creates a high magnetic field in the injection chamber for a short period of time while maintaining negligible field in the adjacent stored beam chamber. The pulsed septum magnet merges the injected beam into the stored beam with minimal impact to the trajectory of the stored beam.
This Statement of Work (SOW) provides details on technical tasks and requirements for the Prospective Offerors (further called “Supplier”) such as reports, documentation, schedule, change management, deliverables, and communication with Argonne National Laboratory (further called “Company”) regarding the field free tube assembly weldment for pulsed septum magnet.
