The policy requires that all staff, contractors, and volunteers be advised of this zero-tolerance policy and the procedures for reporting violations. Reporting options include the NDOC PREA hotline, email, mail, and the agency's website.
The document outlines disciplinary actions and potential criminal prosecution for staff, contractors, or volunteers who engage in, fail to report, or knowingly condone sexual contact with inmates. The NDOC takes a proactive approach to the prevention, detection, response, and punishment of any type of sexual contact in its facilities.
