About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the America 250 Semiquicentennial Tour, a cultural exchange project by the U.S. Embassy in Malaysia. The tour will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, spanning nine locations across Malaysia from December 2025 to late 2026. The project involves creating cultural booths (recommended 3x3 meters), producing 4,000 promotional items, developing social media and traditional media campaigns, conducting surveys, and organizing a national kickoff event in Kuala Lumpur on December 5 or 12, 2025.

Key requirements include providing two assistants per booth, creating media content for Facebook and Instagram, designing surveys to assess participant learning and attitude changes, and documenting the events with high-resolution photos and videos. The vendor will be responsible for venue selection in three additional locations (Perak, Terengganu, and Johor), transportation logistics, and artist selection in consultation with the Embassy. There is no specified maximum budget, but amounts over $30,000 USD require SAM.gov registration. The tour aims to strengthen U.S.-Malaysia bilateral ties through cultural exchange, education, innovation, and civic engagement, targeting youth, students, and government agencies as primary audiences.
