About this file

This document contains two Statutory Bonds (Performance and Payment Bonds) for a contract with the City of Tucson, Arizona. These bonds are standard legal instruments required under Title 34, Chapter 2, Article 2 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, with each bond set at 100% of the contract amount. While specific project details are not filled in on the template, the bonds are designed to protect the City of Tucson by ensuring that the Principal (contractor) will faithfully perform the contract work and promptly pay all laborers and material suppliers involved in the project.

The bonds include provisions for attorney's fees for the prevailing party in any legal dispute, and require a certified copy of the Surety Company's Power of Attorney to be filed with the bond. The document was approved by the City Attorney on May 17, 2021, and provides a template for contractors to complete with their specific project information, principal and surety details, and execution date. The bonds cover the original contract term, any extensions or renewals, and include provisions for modifications to the original contract.
