About this file
This is a Packaging Requirements document (AFMC Form 158) for Purchase Instrument Number FD20302601584-00, Version 2, specifying military packaging and marking standards for three items: 2840013084467NZ, 2840DTH2601BENZ, and 2840DTH2601BFNZ.
The document mandates compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Revision E) for military packaging and MIL-STD-129 (Revision R) for marking. All wood packaging materials must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Celsius (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes, with certification and marking required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee. This requirement aligns with United Nations restrictions on wood packaging material intended to prevent the spread of invasive species such as the pinewood nematode. Items require MIL Long Line Packaging (Preservation Level: MIL, Packaging Level: B) with unit pack dimensions of 4.3 x 4.3 x 16.5 inches, weighing 2.00 pounds per unit pack with a cube of 0.176. Shipping containers must be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129, including any additional marking requirements such as unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer names, or model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The packaging requirements were established by Michael J. Lee, Packaging Specialist for organization 406 SCMS/GULAA, effective April 30, 2026.
