About this file
This is a construction design submission document for a federal contract project at the James J. Peters Medical Center, a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facility located at 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, New York 10468.
The project, identified as VAMC Project No. 526-20-508 and FE Project No. 21-323, involves the repair and upgrade of morgue refrigerators on the second floor of Building 100. The work is being performed by Fellenzer Engineering LLP, a consulting engineering firm based in Middletown and Poughkeepsie, New York. This submission represents 100 percent construction documents prepared in accordance with VA requirements and includes comprehensive architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical design plans. The documentation demonstrates a phased approach to demolition and new construction, with detailed infection control precautions classified by patient risk group (Class II through Class IV), including specifications for negative air pressure systems, HEPA filtration, temporary construction barriers with self-closing doors, and terminal cleaning protocols. The plans encompass demolition of existing systems, installation of new walk-in cooler equipment with refrigeration controls, structural modifications including temporary partition walls, updated utility systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and electrical), and specialized equipment such as body trays, interior rack frames, and motorized lifts for morgue operations, all designed to comply with federal VA facility standards and infection control requirements.
