About this file
This document is a detailed product specification and proposal from Ovivo for the City of St. Petersburg's Northwest Water Reclamation Facility, specifically addressing the replacement of Secondary Clarifier #4. The project involves supplying one new 135-foot diameter C4D-CMD type spiral blade clarifier mechanism, which includes comprehensive non-submerged and submerged components such as a center column, rotating center cage, feedwell, sludge raking arms, skimming design, and associated infrastructure. Ovivo proposes a mechanism with specific design criteria, including a center support with a single-side half bridge, an AGMA continuous design torque of 33,400 ft-lb, and construction primarily using stainless steel materials. The proposal includes two days of field service for installation assistance, operator training, and static torque testing, with an estimated lead time of ten weeks for submittal drawings and twenty-eight weeks for product shipping.
The proposal includes an approximate total mechanism weight of 54,000 pounds, with the heaviest single component weighing around 6,100 pounds. While the document does not explicitly state pricing, it indicates a budget proposal is available. The related contract opportunity description emphasizes the project's necessity for maintaining the plant's secondary treatment process reliability, including mechanical rehabilitation and protective coating of interior surfaces. The project will be executed with careful coordination to minimize disruption to ongoing treatment processes, and includes an owner-directed contingency allowance for potential unforeseen repairs. The work is located in Florida and focuses on ensuring operational compliance and extending the structural life of the water reclamation facility's clarifier infrastructure.
