About this file
This document contains a safety data sheet and narrative for a federal construction contract. The contractor must provide a two-module two-story aircraft maintenance hangar addition and associated facilities for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in support of F-35C Joint Strike Fighter fleet squadrons. The hangar will include high bay maintenance space, shops, operations and administrative areas, and will be constructed with reinforced concrete, structural steel, metal decking and both steep slope metal and low slope built-up roofs. The contractor must also construct a parking apron and marshalling area, taxiway connections, apron lighting, and an alternate mission equipment storage facility. The safety data sheet requires contractors to disclose safety records and insurance information and describe their safety program and oversight of subcontractors. The narrative must explain how the contractor will evaluate and monitor safety performance for all levels of subcontractors.
