About this file
This document is a Government Response to Requests for Clarification (RFCs) containing two specific questions from potential contractors. The first question concerns the thickness of windows, which the government resolved by directing the inquirer to Attachment-8 Amendment 0004 Drawings and References. The second question addresses a Statement of Work (SOW) requirement for a weld inspector qualified per AWS QC1, specifically questioning the ABYC standards compliance and inspection criteria. For this question, the government indicated that the RFC is under review and they intend to provide a response before the end of the solicitation.

Government Response to RFCs
15) Question: We are unable to locate the thickness of the windows on the referenced drawings In order to get pricing for the new windows, we need to know glass thickness. Can this be provided?
Answer: The drawing showing window thickness is now available. Please see Attachment-8 Amendment 0004 Drawings and References.
16) Question: SOW States: A person qualified as weld inspector per AWS QC1 shall accomplish a visual inspection consisting of hull integrity, deck assessment, structural components to include keel, frames and bulkheads, seaworthiness, ABYC standards compliance and recommendations.
In conversations with multiple entities (CWI & Engineers), the feedback we have received is that it is not clear what the intention of the SOW requirement is. Can you clarify which ABYC standard specifically the requirement is calling out? (ABYC standards typically do not apply to hull integrity). Can you provide any clarifying information on what the baseline is for the inspection criteria?
Answer: This RFC is currently under review. The Government intends to provide a response before the end of the solicitation.
