RFI RESPONSES #2 8-1-2019
1. While reading the spec, I noticed verbiage stating that "abatement workers had to be NJ
Licensed asbestos handlers." I have worked on bases before and state licenses are not required and work is regulated by federal standards. We are a NYS licensed asbestos Abatement contractor. NY & NJ are reciprocal but our license is not NY: See below statement form Federal
Website:
If the project is 100% federal (on federal land; federally funded, etc.), the state does not have jurisdiction and the contractor would follow the requirements by the federal government’s awarding authority. More information is available under Laws, Rules and Regulations, Attorney General’s Opinion # 92-39.
