1.2 Area of Operation. The vessel will operate out Norfolk, VA throughout the Atlantic Ocean.

1.3 Operating Scenario. The vessel will tow a passive acoustic monitoring system, 3-7 kts, 24hrs/day for up to a 45 day event. The ship will need to be able to tow in a straight line for extended periods at slow speed. Because of the type of acoustic system to be employed, the ability of the vessel to maintain heading stability is critical.

1.4 Operational Support.

1.5 Delivery: Norfolk, VA

1.5.1 Pre Delivery Site Survey (PDSS): The vendor shall permit USG personnel to visit the ship no less than 15 days and no more than 45 days prior to the delivery date to conduct a PDSS. The purpose of this PDSS shall be to, at a minimum, identify lay-down locations of GFE/CFE equipment, identify locations of electrical outlets, and limit potential obstructions to operations.

1.6 Redelivery: Norfolk, VA

1.7 Charter Period: Firm Period: about 120 days, Option Period 1: about 60 days, and Option Period 2: about 60 days.
