15. REMARKS
PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND CONTRACTING APPROACH
1. Program Overview

The Upgrade Program will improve AAV survivability in irregular warfare (IrW) and sustained operations ashore (SOA). The Upgrade Program will upgrade a total of 392 AAVP7A1 RAM/RS variants, and is designed to increase the force protection of embarked Marines and crew while maintaining the AAV’s current operational capability. The technical strategy for the Upgrade Program is to integrate commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS), Non-Developmental Items (NDI), and government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) component improvements to bridge capability gaps that are evident in the area of survivability and force protection.

2. Contracting Approach The entire RDT&E and LRIP phases will be Firm Fixed Price (FFP) to include all Design Efforts, Prototype Build, LRIP Build and Test Support.

3. Quantity Overview The 1921-2 Report for the RDTEN phase is required to report the recurring cost by vehicle not by lot. Actual costs are not to be allocated to the quantity produce but must represent the actual cost for each discrete unit produced. This will be the same requirement in the LRIP phase.

4. Reporting Requirements For the Contract Award Event, the Due Date for all CSDR forms shall be 15 days after Contract Award.

For the PDR Event, the Due Date for all CSDR forms shall be 90 days after Contract Award.

For the CDR Event, the Due Date for all CSDR forms shall be 210 days after Contract Award.

For the Prototype Build Event, the Due Date for all CSDR forms shall be 30 days after completion of the Prototype Build date identified in the Contractor's IMS at EMD Option Award.

For the Final Report Event, the Due Date for all CSDR forms shall be 30 days after completion of the Prototype Testing date identified in the Contractor's IMS at EMD Option Award.

The As of Date for all CSDR submissions and forms shall be 15 days prior to the Due Date.
