About this file
The document is a mechanical floor plan (M-2) prepared by Florida Engineering Services (FES) for the Academic Village Cooling Tower Replacement project per FBC 2023 Existing Buildings. The technical drawing provides detailed schematic designs for two cooling towers (CT-1 and CT-2), including isometric views, floor plans, and a comprehensive cooling tower schedule. The plan shows specific technical details such as pipe connections (8'' and 10'' diameter), water return and supply lines, and precise mechanical layout configurations.
The mechanical floor plan reveals a technical replacement strategy for aging cooling tower infrastructure, with carefully designed specifications for integration into the existing HVAC system. The job is numbered 17024 and appears to be part of a broader campus infrastructure upgrade, focusing on replacing existing cooling towers with modern units to improve system efficiency and reliability. The document includes professional engineering stamps and detailed technical annotations, suggesting a comprehensive approach to the cooling tower replacement that prioritizes technical precision and system performance.

New installation scope summary:
1- Install new cooling towers as specified. Set cooling tower on existing structure such that all piping connections line up with existing piping. Rearranging existing piping is not part of the scope of work.
2- Tie down cooling towers as specified in structural drawings.
3- Connect new cooling tower motors to existing disconnect switches. The variable frequency drives that control the motors are existing and located within the chiller water plan. Contractor to replace as necessary the sump water temperature sensor and wiring for proper system operation. All operating set point to remain as they are.
4- Start up new cooling towers. Verify proper operation.
