About this file

This file is Appendix A of the Request for Proposal (RFP) for Structured Cabling services issued by Lake Orion Community Schools in Michigan. The RFP seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive structured cabling infrastructure upgrades across multiple school buildings, including the Early Childhood Center, Lake Orion High School, Paint Creek Elementary, Stadium Drive Elementary, Webber Elementary, Carpenter Elementary, and Orion Oaks Elementary. The project encompasses Category 6 and Category 6A cabling systems, backbone fiber installation, network closet renovation and creation, wireless access point removal and reinstallation, and associated equipment including patch panels, power distribution units, and various cabinet types. Specific quantities are detailed for each location, with base bid requirements for backbone fiber replacement at Webber Elementary and the Early Childhood Center in 2021, plus an Add-Alternate 2 option for fiber backbone replacement at additional schools. The document does not specify response or award dates within this appendix.

The RFP requires vendors to submit all required forms in Microsoft Excel format, including a proposal summary, non-familial relationship affidavit, school safety affidavit, compliance exception form, Iran Economic Sanctions Act certification, vendor questionnaire, and detailed specifications and cost worksheets. Vendors must provide unit costs for various cabling categories, installation services, equipment, and removal/demolition work, with pricing structured to allow for potential change orders during the district's ongoing renovation program through 2025. The RFP includes provisions for extended unit pricing available to other Oakland County school districts and requires vendors to hold pricing or guarantee percentage discounts on educational list pricing or cabling cost increases for future project phases. Vendors must also provide certified 15-year performance guarantees on all cabling systems and demonstrate appropriate bonding, insurance, and work experience through references and project personnel details.
