About this file

This is an addendum to a Structured Cabling Request for Proposal issued by Lake Orion Community Schools in coordination with Plante Moran. Addendum 4, dated December 14, 2020, provides clarification and revised answers to vendor questions regarding data placement specifications, specifically addressing the function and installation requirements of audio-visual (AV) cabling drops shown on high school architectural drawings. The addendum clarifies that blue data points represent AV cabling at Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) locations, with additional single data drops on the same wall designated for PA/Audio System Control Units. Both connections function as standard network-connected devices. Where multiple AV drops are marked at a single location, field coordination between the awarded vendor and the District's AV/PA vendor will determine final component placement and installation considerations prior to installation.

AV data drops are to be coiled above ceiling at prescribed locations with a 10-foot service loop. A typical classroom configuration includes two network-connected AV devices: an Interactive Flat Panel with data connection and a PA/Audio System Control Unit with data connection. Where final location determination has not been completed at the time of bid, such as at Paint Creek, the component is assumed to reside on the same wall as the interactive flat panel, with final placement and any associated installation considerations to be confirmed during field coordination with both the awarded contractor and the District's AV/PA vendor.

Re: Lake Orion Community Schools – Structured Cabling

Below is a correction to one question from Addendum #3 and a revised answer:

‐ End of Addendum 4 ‐

QUESTION ANSWER

1. Please clarify the “typical” data placements on your High School drawings where 1 Data are shown in blue to represent AV cabling at the IFP panel location and a second single data representing AV data is shown on the same wall.

Is the second blue data on the wall by itself reserved for a particular AV technology? If so, please clarify mounting details for this drop. It is assumed that field coordination will be required at some point to connect the other AV technologies in each room. You call out clocks, WAPs, and general data.

AV data drops will be coiled above ceiling at the prescribed locations on the print with a 10ft service loop. A typical classroom consists of two:

1. Interactive Flat Panel – Data Connection

2. PA/Audio System Control Unit – Data

Connection

These two connections are network connected devices that will connect just as other network drops.

For locations where both AV drops are marked at a single location (e.g., Paint Creek), the final location of one component has not yet been determined and will be finalized prior to installation. This component is assumed to reside on the same wall as the interactive flat panel.

Field coordination will occur with the awarded vendor and the District’s AV/PA vendor to determine any installation considerations.
