About this file

This local work template outlines special requirements for work aboard nuclear powered or nuclear support ships. The document specifies that radiation levels in accessible work areas will be lower than public exposure limits set by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. All contractor personnel must receive training on radiation safety and controls prior to boarding the ship. They are prohibited from entering any area posted with radiation warning signs and must avoid contacting unattended materials marked as radioactive or contaminated. The contractor must submit a list of trained workers to the supervisor before commencing any aboard work.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation seeking proposals for interior decking removal and installation aboard Navy and military vessels in support of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center. Offerors are to provide management, technical support, labor, materials, equipment and facilities for this indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, multiple award contract.
