All contractors must obtain and maintain commercial general liability insurance with minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, commercial automobile liability insurance of $1,000,000 per accident, workers' compensation insurance per statutory requirements, and professional liability insurance of $1,000,000 per claim if applicable to the scope of work. The City of West Sacramento, including its officers, officials, employees, agents, and volunteers, must be named as the certificate holder and additional insured on all policies except workers' compensation and professional liability.
All insurance policies must include required endorsements, including an Additional Insured Endorsement equivalent to CG 2010 0714, Primary and Noncontributory Endorsements, and Separation of Insureds clauses for general and automobile liability coverage. Workers' compensation policies must include a Waiver of Subrogation Endorsement in favor of the City or, for self-employed contractors with no employees, a Workers Comp Waiver. Certificates of Insurance must provide thirty days' written notice to the certificate holder prior to cancellation or any material change. All Additional Insured Endorsements must be attached to the Certificate of Insurance to verify that policies have been properly endorsed; certificates lacking these attachments will be considered incomplete and unacceptable.
