About this file

This document is a Local Business Preference submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, applicable to the vehicle painting, dent repair, and refinishing services contract opportunity (Current MA: NA210000135). The form is optional and designed to encourage local businesses to participate in City solicitations. Offerors who meet the specified criteria are encouraged to complete and submit the form with their offer, though participation is not required to respond to the solicitation.

The City of Austin defines a Local Business as any person or corporate entity with headquarters located within the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which encompasses all areas within Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties, collectively referred to as "Greater Austin." Headquarters is defined as either the location where owners or leadership provide direction and management of the entity or the location of the entity's Administrative Center where most important business and operational activities are managed. The City reserves the right to request additional information to confirm an offeror's headquarters location and may withhold any available preference if information is determined to be incorrect. If the City discovers intentional misrepresentation, the offeror may be disqualified from the resulting contract as non-responsible, and if the misrepresentation is discovered after contract award, the City reserves the right to void the contract. Note that local business preference may not be allowable in solicitations subject to federal funding.
