About this file

This is an Employer Certification form for the Wage Theft Ordinance Responsibility Criteria established by the City of Austin, Texas, applicable to all employers submitting offers for city contracts. The certification requirement mandates that any prospective contractor must confirm they have not been adjudicated for wage theft-related offenses as defined in Austin City Code Chapter 4, sections 4-22-1 (G) and (H) within the five years preceding the contract award date. All awarded employers are required to complete the City of Austin Wage Theft Training within 30 days of contract award. The certification form requires the authorized representative of the firm to sign under penalty of perjury, affirming compliance with the ordinance provisions and agreement to abide by sections 4-22-5 (B) and 4-22-6 (A) of the Austin City Code.

This certification document directly relates to a City of Austin contract opportunity for Terminal Block cabinets and bases used for pole-mounted cabinet retrofits to eliminate underground splicing at intersections. The contract has an initial term of 24 months with three optional 12-month extensions, for a total potential contract value of $1,098,500 over five years ($217,700 annually). Completion of the wage theft certification and training is a mandatory responsibility criteria for contract award and performance under this procurement.
