About this file
This is a solicitation document from the City of Tucson, Arizona, for the procurement of water meters compatible with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) technology. Tucson Water seeks qualified contractors and manufacturers to supply 5/8 X 3/4" and larger meters for delivery to a Tucson Water Stores facility, with specific delivery locations to be determined at a later date. The utility serves approximately 722,000 people across a 350 square-mile service area, with approximately 93% of potable metered connections serving residential accounts (single family, multi-family, and duplex/triplex). The contractor shall provide meters ranging from 5/8 X 3/4" through 16" compatible with AMI technology, including alarms, for use in both reclaimed and potable water systems serving residential and commercial installations. Proposed products must have been commercially available for a minimum of one year prior to the solicitation closing date. The City anticipates awarding contracts to up to five manufacturers meeting specified qualifications, specifications, pricing, and testing criteria.
The resulting contract will operate as a cooperative agreement, allowing eligible participating agencies the option to purchase water meters from the awarded contractors. The City reserves the right to make multiple awards to ensure a comprehensive selection of products and adequate geographic coverage for its customers. Award will be made to all manufacturers meeting the established qualifications and performance criteria, with pricing and testing factors evaluated as part of the selection process.
