AMENDMENT NO. 1 – NARRATIVE OF THE CHANGES

May 6, 2016

The following updates have been made in Amendment No. 1:

Drawings

1. Drawing P‐423:

This drawing has been modified to show new in‐floor sanitary piping. A floor cleanout has been added.

Two floor drains are shown near separate shower areas instead of the center of the room to keep floor drains free of dirt from passing occupants. Venting has been shown more clearly on lavatories and showers. Demolition and reuse of existing 3” sanitary has been eliminated and reflected on demolition and new construction plan. Floor demolition remains on Architecture drawings.

2. Drawing P‐443:

This drawing has been modified to show missing or unclear sanitary waste/vent piping and modified floor drain locations/configurations. Areas of modification are: (1) urinal area, (2) men’s lavatories, (3) men’s toilets, (4) floor drain near the washer/dryers, (5) women’s lavatories, (6) women’s toilets. Some floor drains have individual vents, whereas, others use common vents from another fixture. Since traps are within 16 feet of the vent, then dedicated floor drain venting is not required.

3. Drawing M‐421:

Information in the mechanical room relating to the duct heating coil and air transfer through the space has been added. An existing exhaust fan in the Electrical Equipment Room adjacent to the mechanical room has been shown for clarity to the contractor and stated to be rebalanced to maintain proper pressurization and airflow patterns throughout the mechanical room. Two balancing dampers were added to the DOAS for ease of balancing.

4. Drawing M‐604:

An Electric Duct Heating Coil (EHC) has been added with more information defining the electric duct heating coil interlocked with Supply Fan (SF‐1) located in building 3172’s mechanical room. Some of this information was originally specified in the Supply Fan (SF‐1) schedule under a note, but it has now been given a dedicated schedule on M‐604. The supply fan schedule remains on M‐604, with the previous note modified.

Specifications

1. Specification 22 00 00, Page 14:

The shower stall specification has been modified to include a minimum of two shelves per stall, a flow restrictor on the shower head, and dimensions for the building 3181 showers were added.

2. Specification 23 00 00, Page 21:

The Electric Duct Heater specification has been further refined, including more detailed requirements.
