TITLE: Boat Boom, Level 2 Inspect and Repair
1. Par. 3.2, Table Line 5, requires NDE & preservation, but no table line appears to require removal & reinstallation of the boat boom davit assembly. Request clarification if NDE & preservation pertain to accessible surfaces with boat boom in place and if SSPC-11 is an acceptable alternative to SSPC-10 to avoid impact of blast grit/dust on davit & cutter;
2. Par. 3.2, Table Line 6, requires renewal of one (1) forward luffing arm lower pin sleeve. Each davit arm includes two (2) pins & bushings per TP 3762. Request confirmation renewal requirement is for 1 of 2 sleeves (bushings) of forward davit arm.
SSPC-11 is acceptable, NDE of foundation welds are accessible without removal.

WORK ITEM NO. 77 PARA NO. 1.1
TITLE: Ventilation Duct Systems, Renew
There is some confusion regarding the terms used in the statement of work, paragraph 1.1 and drawing 512-001. A photograph of duct #15 (01-18-2) is attached for an example. The scope of work is to “Renew spool SP 139 from deck to spool flange (Spool, 3 linear feet)
The spool is that component of ducting that actually penetrates the deck. A spool flange would be a flange attached to the spool piece. It appears that the intent of the work is to replace the vent duct from the weld seam above the deck to the first flange, as indicated on the marked up photograph.
Is that correct?
That is correct, replace from weld seam (on ducting) as shown on drawing to the flange.

WORK ITEM NO. PARA NO.
TITLE: Performance Period
Contractor has completed a preliminary schedule for the drydocking and repairs to the Kukui. It appears that the project will require twelve weeks to perform rather than the ten week performance period allocated in the solicitation. The critical path elements of the schedule are printed and attached to this clarification. Note that the schedule does not include growth work that more than likely will affect critical path line items. It is requested that the customer extend the performance period of the project from ten weeks to thirteen which would include a week for growth work.
Period of performance is 10 weeks and any growth work will be accounted for by CFRs and CRs.

WORK ITEM NO. Item 58 PARA NO. 3.1.1
TITLE: Temporary Messing & Berthing
A large portion of the ventilation work associated with item 77 involves spaces that do not impact habitability. Can the specification be modified so that temporary messing and berthing would be required whenever a living or dining space is impacted by disruption to one of the vent systems in item 77 rather than all of the ventilation?
That is correct. Only ventilation that affects the living or dining areas is required for the temp messing and berthing.
