TITLE: References

Can the Coast Guard supply Tech pub 3548, SWBS 512-C, section C ? As it was not in the CD provided.

The reference to section “C” appears to be a typographical error. Within tech pub 3548, only sections E and G are related to centrifugal fans. Both of these references have been attached separately. Section E specifically has a subsection from the MFR of the fan designated for overhaul.

WORK ITEM NO. WI 63 PARA NO. 3.2.1

TITLE: Deck covering repair

In item 63 parg. 3.2.1 remove existing deck covering around the perimeter of each closure, Sufficiently enough to allow for new covering over coaming surfaces to smoothly transition With existing deck covering system. The question is for estimating purposes can the Coast Guard Tell us what is sufficiently enough is or can you supply pictures of the areas?

The cutter is currently underway but the Chief Engineer will attempt to send a photo to the Contracting Officer within 24 hours. The scope of work is to repair the epoxy polymeric deck system around the hatches identified in PARA 1.1. These hatches were previously renewed, requiring the decking system be chipped up and removed down to the deck plating in an approx 4” wide strip around the hatch coaming itself to facilitate welding. The epoxy polymeric needs to be restored in these areas, to provide a smooth and uniform transition from existing decking system to the hatch coaming, or from the bulkhead to the coaming in areas where the space between the two is minimal (3-4 inches). Thickness of existing epoxy polymeric deck system is approx ½”.
