Questions & Answers #6 (Rev 1)

72. Since the commissary is to remain in use during the demo and construction phases, is the contractor allowed to do an extended fire alarm outage while the work is ongoing? If so who is to provide the fire watch during the outage period?

Answer: Power outages should be minimal, notices identified in specs. Please see the response to question #72. The Base fire department prefers fire alarm work during normal work hours.

74. Is the data and comm. a proprietary provider? If so who is the provider?

Answer: Data and Com are cable plant only. See Specification 27 15 00

75. When the new comm and data are run is there to be an outage for the cross over? How long can the system be down while the changeover is accomplished?

Answer: Data and Com are cable plant only. See Specification 27 15 00

76. Does the contractor have to provide temporary refrigeration units while the existing ones are being changed out for new units?

Answer: Provide temporary refrigeration for storage and processing areas.

Answer: No work on this system as part of this project

79. What manufacturer is used on Altus AFB to provide the Fire Alarm Systems and Mass Notification Systems i.e. Monaco, Hochiki etc.?

Although any fire alarm and mass notification system that is compatible with Monaco system would be acceptable, the Base fire department would prefer Monaco MAAP-X system for the new installation for the Commissary.
