DISA occupies a portion of 3 buildings and all of building 23, the applicable space is as follows:
B10: 20, 242 sq ft B11: 4,635 sq ft B20 3rd floor: 13,177 sq ft B20 7th floor: 9,090 sq ft B23: 91,386 sq ft

Full generator power in b23.
Single source utility power in other buildings, very rare to have unplanned power outages.
1. Is there a dropped ceiling in all areas of installation?
No, however there is acoustical ceiling in most areas.
1. What type of walls are in the perimeter areas?
Depends on the space:
· B23 is CMU and brick veneer exterior
· B11 and B20 are CMU and also have gypsum perimeter walls where space is shared, these are COSA rated walls in B11, B20 gypsum walls are split between COSA and no security rating.
· B10 Room 1101 is CMU, the mantrap outside rm 1101 is COSA rated gypsum, the other perimeter walls are COSA rated metal with a man trap between the metal COSA box and the brick structure..
1. Do we need to drill between the walls, to run our cable infrastructure?
Existing penetrations may be reused. However existing cameras are almost all run without conduit. These existing penetrations will require conduit installed.
1. Do we need to use conduit? If yes, what do you estimate the total conduit footage will be?
Yes, this is a requirement in the PWS. Quantity to be used can be based on rectilinear installation between all cameras and the building comms room for 10, 11, and 20 as called out on the drawings. For 23, all cameras are wired back to the rack in room 125. Estimated length to be determine by the bidder. Cameras for building 10 are already in conduit. New doors added to the ACS in B23 shall be routed to room 175, New door added to b20 3rd floor shall be routed to the comms room.
1. Are the door frames metal and concrete filled?
All door frames requiring new ACS hardware are hollow or outside surface mounted
1. Please provide a comprehensive list of quantities of all IDS items needed to include model # (e.g. total number of motion sensors, glass breaks, etc.) per location.
No motion sensors or glass breaks to be installed, existing motion sensors shall be wired to the new lenel panels. Due to the nature of the installation, these are considered part of the ACS, not IDS.
1. Do you currently have existing IDS Sensors in your doors? Please specify which doors.
Most doors have BMS, this is detailed on the drawings. Due to the nature of the installation, this is considered ACS, not IDS.
1. What is the manufacturer of the existing IDS system?
The existing ACS is Lenel Onguard. The ACS utilizes digital outputs to the base IDS which is also Lenel.
1. Will we be able to reuse the existing cable? If so, what type of cable is there currently?
All existing door cable can be reused, only card readers are replaced. PWS and concept drawings detail where card readers vs readers with keypads are required, all readers shall be both contact and contactless, as required by the PWS.
1. Are Ceilings Suspended? Or Hard Lid?
Combination. Most areas are acoustical tile suspended ceiling. Areas are detailed below.
B10: Wiring to Comms Closet is suspended below hard lid of structure outside on the loading dock. All interior are acoustical tile ceiling.
B11: Acoustical ceiling only B20: Elevator lobby is hard lid, all other areas are acoustical tile.
B23: main lobby only is hard lid, other ceilings are mostly acoustical tile and a couple are open..
1. Are there existing Cable Trays for wiring above ceilings?
Only in computer rooms, these can be used, however the cable tray route must be approved due to the nature of the space.
1. Can Existing Wiring be utilized?
Only for door hardware, or if existing cameras are in conduit with CAT 6 wire. The only cameras known to meet this condition are the B10 cameras.
1. Is a “UPS” required? If so, What Time/Power Duration is required?
This is detailed in the PWS
1. re “Or Equal” Equipment substitutions allowed?
Yes, as long as the substitutions are compatible with Lenel Onguard. Server software and panelboards cannot be substituted.
1. Is “Plenum Wire” acceptable?
Yes, however it still requires conduit.
1. Is “After Hours Access” for said work, available to contractor at no add’l cost to the Gov’t?
After hours work requires escorting, so generally not acceptable. Requests for after hours work will be evaluated depending on why it is requested.
1. What is the height of Exterior Cameras? (If any)
Varies. Height range is 10-15 ft above grade.
1. Please provide/post other “Q &A” requests.
Ditco will issue an amendment to solicitation to provide complete list of Questions and answers received by sources
1. Please provide a list of equipment and parts # that are to be installed.
This is detailed in the PWS and concept drawings
1. Are there pipe chases between floors?
The only building with multiple floors is B20, there are chases between floors.
1. What is the range of the budget for this project, and is it already appropriated?
Unlike construction, there cannot be a listed relevant range of cost posted to sources. This is a project identified as services as it is a remove and replace in nature.
1. Because of the high cost of the parts can we bill when parts arrive on site, or in the alternative are progress payments allowed?
Yes. Once materials are received at the facility, partial invoicing of those parts will be permitted.
1. How many feet of new wire will have to be run?
Determine this based on rectilinear installation in conduit to the comms lenel panel for new doors or comms closet or b23 rack for cameras.
1. What kind of cipher lock and quantities are required e.g. X-10
Refer to the PWS
1. Please post the sign in sheet and Q&A's from the site visit.
