Addendum No. 3 Summary

This is Addendum No. 3 to the contract documents for the Groundwater Treatment Plant Filter Gallery Valve Rehabilitation Project Phase 2 issued by the Long Beach Public Utilities Department in Long Beach, California. The project involves furnishing and delivering multiple butterfly valves with electric motor actuators and extension bonnets in various sizes (14-inch, 24-inch, and 36-inch flanged styles), all classified as Class 150B for above-ground service within the water treatment plant gallery. The addendum extends the bid submission deadline from April 30, 2025 to 2:00 PM on May 2, 2025, submitted through the City of Long Beach's online procurement system (Long Beach Buys). Key modifications include specification updates to Bid Items 2 and 4, replacing generic torque tube extension bonnet references with specific measurements of 126 inches and 176 inches respectively. A new Bid Item 12 is added for two 24-inch flanged style butterfly valves with 48-inch torque tube extension bonnets for the North and South Waste Washwater valves, with reference photographs included.

The bid pricing includes unit prices for twelve separate bid items covering valve and actuator purchases, local storage for up to twelve months, testing and adjustments, startup services, and a five-year extended warranty. An allowance of $50,000.00 is designated for owner-directed changes. All unit prices are stated to include sales tax and freight charges. The addendum addresses a bidder question regarding tariff escalation on German-manufactured valves produced in China, with the response clarifying that tariff impacts will be addressed as change orders during project execution. Contractors must verify field conditions, dimensional compatibility, power requirements, and accessibility before ordering equipment, with the owner's representative authorized to work with the contractor on necessary contract modifications. The signed Addenda Acknowledgement form must accompany all bid submittals.
