About this file
This email from the Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) serves as a procurement notice regarding RFP #46700-GDC0000609 for inmate telephone services with the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC). The email, dated September 27, 2013, and sent by Jan Pytelewski, GCPA Category Manager for IT Procurement, addresses all participating offerors regarding the impact of a newly released FCC Final Order on Interstate Inmate Calling Services Rates issued on September 26, 2013. The procurement process was active with proposals already submitted, and the GDC/DOAS announced that the RFP event schedule would be revised to allow all offerors sufficient time to review, digest, analyze, and revise their submitted proposals in response to the regulatory changes.
The email indicates that no immediate action was required from offerors at the time of communication, with GDC/DOAS committing to provide a detailed timeline update and next steps within the following week. The announcement emphasized compliance with procurement protocol and encouraged questions from participating offerors. While specific pricing terms, contract duration, and service quantities are not detailed in this email, the communication reflects the procurement team's responsiveness to significant regulatory changes affecting the inmate telephone services market and their commitment to ensuring a fair and informed bidding process for all participants.

Offerors, We have seen the September 26, 2013 release of the FCC Order for Interstate Inmate Calling Services Rates and we know that all parties involved/participating in our RFP# 46700-GDC0000609 need time to review, digest, analyze and react.
GDC/DOAS will be revising its RFP event schedule and we will be giving all Offerors sufficient time to revise their submitted proposals. At this time, Offerors do not need to take any action with respect to the open solicitation.
I will provide an update next week as to our timeline and next steps.
We appreciate your patience and we ask that you continue to observe our procurement protocol. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks, Jan P
