Please refer to E-503 for Light fixture schedule; Section 265116 will be deleted (Fluorescent Lighting)

13. Please confirm if a new temporary upright sprinkler system per 211315-1.1. E will indeed be required during the renovations.

Yes, a new temporary upright sprinkler system pre 211315.1.1.E will be required during the renovations.

14. Are the window blinds being saved in place or removed and disposed of?

All window blinds are to be saved and reused in the final design.

15. Does one layer of exposed floor covering get removed? Any flooring under original layer is not in base bid.

All existing finished flooring gets removed. This includes carpet, tile and

VCT.

16. Does floor underlayment/latexing remain?

Plywood substrate will remain in place. Remove leveling conpund and adhesive as necessary to prepare the plywood for the application of a cementitious pourable underlayment that provides a 2 hour fire rating.

17. There is additional casework, cabinets and counters not shown to be removed on the demolition drawings. Do these get removed?

Yes, existing casework gets removed whether shown on drawings or not.

18. Can we switch dumpsters at the dock during the night?

Yes, dumpsters can be switched out at night from the loading dock.

19. Do all the raised concrete pads get removed in the fan rooms?

The concrete pads in the fan room are to be removed.

20. Demolition drawings; A-202 and A-203 do not detail exactly which rooms we do no work in, would it be safe to assume the corss hatched rooms on MH-201 and MH-202 have no demolition work in them?

Yes

21. There is some glass pipe in the fan rooms. Usually this handles caustic/acidic liquids. Are there any environmentally hazardous deposits in these sumps?

As identified by EPA, there are no health risks associated with the contents of the glass pipe or neutralization basins in the mechanical rooms.

22. Existing sub-floor: The scope of demolition for the existing wood sub-floor needs to be clarified. It is not possible to ascertain the scope of work from the information provided or the site visit. More detailed information is required. I would suggest that the cost of entire sub-floor removal will raise many questions as to the scope of work and cost. It will not be possible to determine the condition of the existing structure floor until removal of the wood floor is complete. That will lead to many cost issues including potential asbestos floor tile and/or mastic removal, unquantifiable floor prep, etc. I would suggest that this item be removed from the scope of work and only include removal of carpet in the base bide. This approach would provide the government with an “apples to apples” proposal amongst the competing firms.

Plywood substrate will remain in place. Remove leveling compound and adhesive as necessary to prepare the plywood for the application of a cementitious pourable underlayment that provides a 2 hr. fire rating.

23. Has another walk-through date been scheduled?

Yes, December 30, 2015

24. Bas-Clarify what protocol needs to b einstalled

VAV Controllers –are to be Backnet over IP – Open Protocol (MSTP) VAV must be programmable using Niagra workbench program tool

25. Specification Section 262923 relates to Variable Frequency Drive Motor

Controllers. This equipment is typically provided with the HVAC equipment.

Confirm that all VFD’s. motor controllers, motor starters, and disconnects are to be provided with the HVAC equipment.

Yes, it will be provided by the HVAC equipment.

26. Specification Section 262933 relates to Fire Pump Controllers. This equipment is not indicated in the drawings. We request clarification related to this matter.

This specification section is not applicable as indicated in amendment #2.

The sepcifcations will eb revised to remove this section.

27. Verify that the Fire Alarm system is to be provided by others under separate contract as indicated on sheets E206 & E207.

That is correct

28. Specification Section 265116 1.2-B-1 & 2 indicates to reference section 260923 “Lighting Control Devices. Sction 260943.16 “Addressable-Fixture Lighting Controls” and section 260943.2 “Relay-Based Lighting Controls”. These section do not exist in the project documents. Please clarify this matter.

References to Section 260943.16 “Addressable Fixture Lighting Controls” and Section 260943.2 “Relay Based lighting Controls” will be deleted.

There will be Section 260923 “Lighting Control Devices”, which will be incorporated in the next submittal.

29. Clarify if LED or Fluorescent lighting fixtures are desired to be installed on this project.

LED, refer to light fixture schedule on the drawings

30. Demolition drawings A202 and A203 provide no keynotes on demolition scope.

Please clarify (ie – what will be done with flooring/plywood underlayment, ceiling tile).

Keynotes are provided on the 65% complete drawings issue.

31. There is no specification included for the glazing. Please advise.

A glazing specification and glazing schedule will be provided in the drawings issuance.
