About this file

This document outlines requirements for a quality assurance materials testing laboratory to support a dam safety modification project. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering District Alaska is soliciting proposals for a contractor to establish a validated materials testing laboratory at the Moose Creek Dam project staging area near North Pole, Alaska. The selected contractor must supply all labor, equipment, and materials to perform quality assurance testing and inspection required to independently monitor the soil-cement-bentonite and soils work for the duration of the project. Specifically, the contractor will be responsible for site preparation and temporary utilities for the laboratory facility, developing the materials testing laboratory to include required equipment and processes, creating a quality assurance manual, and obtaining validation of the laboratory by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center.
