About this file

This is a Final Landscape Plans document prepared by Moffatt & Nichol for the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners in Florida, specifically for the Olive Road Street Improvement Project Phase I (Solicitation ID: PD 20-21.052), covering the section from east of Carpenter Creek to North Davis Highway. The project involves landscaping improvements including the planting of 29 Crape Myrtle trees (Lagerstroemia x Tonto) in 15-gallon containers at 5-6 feet height, installation of 97 square yards of 3-inch depth pine straw mulch, tree protection barriers for existing vegetation, and tree trunk protection measures for trees ranging from 4 inches to 72 inches in diameter. The landscape plans are digitally signed and sealed by Bruce Brodsky, RLA (License No. 01742), dated May 6, 2026, and include detailed specifications, site plans covering stations 191+40 through 256+68.41, and construction management requirements managed by the Escambia County Engineering Department under Project Manager Michael Segars.

The landscaping contractor assumes responsibility for a 365-day establishment period maintenance plan beginning after final landscape installation, including weekly mowing (April through October) and twice-monthly mowing (November through March), irrigation maintenance, herbicide and pesticide applications, weeding, edging, fertilizer application, mulch replenishment, plant health inspections, and debris removal. All plant materials must meet Florida No. 1 standards or better and be installed per the latest FDOT Standard Specifications and Design Standards. The contractor must verify utility locations, coordinate with other trades, conduct soil analysis prior to planting, provide temporary irrigation, and maintain tree protection barriers throughout construction. Upon completion of the establishment period, the County may exercise a 1-year option for continued maintenance services. A representative from Escambia County responsible for maintenance shall attend the establishment period inspection, and the landscape contractor must provide as-built drawings in AutoCAD or Microstation format within 30 days of project acceptance.
