6 In general, if the distance between the network switch and the endpoints (call handlers, monitor stations, VOIP phones, Garage door openers, gate interface) is longer than a standard patch cable can accommodate, are there existing ethernet patch panels and ethernet cable infrastructure between the switch and the endpoints? Or is new cable infrastructure to be installed new by the offeror?
The distance between the network switch and the endpoints (call handlers, monitor stations, VOIP phones, Garage door openers, gate interface) are vendor specific and design dependent. The existing patch panels or network drops that are available by the government are within standard limited distance. Contractor needs to provide final patch cables from the jacks to its endpoint or install new cables.
The only challenging location is the flightline gate, it’s opened by remote control or keypad code entry. There are no cable runs to the gate currently, contractor is to propose most cost effective and technically acceptable solution to meet this requirement. i.e. “wireless device” or bridging”.
7 Per section 2.1.1: “Each device shall receive unique emergency ringtone and flashing lights.” Is there a preferred ringtone and/or flashing light sequence?

9 Will the new VOIP phones be mounted in the same location as the previous phones, and are there any special mounting considerations if phones are uniquely mounted on stands/mounting boxes/other equipment?
All desktop phones.
10 What is the expected purpose of the LCD display on the VOIP phones? What information is required to be presented on the LCD display?
At the standby mode: Each phone will display its’ own location information, such as “Fire Station #2, phone # and date/time. At the active mode, either incoming/outgoing call, each phone will show incoming/outgoing information, such as “Fire Station #2, phone # and date/time. At the screen saving mode: Each phone will display “AFP 42 Primary Crash System”

55 Regarding the answer to Question 18, which states “There are NO rack space available for the tower (2nd floor),”:
During the site visit, some free space, in increments of 1U or 2U was observed in the existing rack. If supplied equipment can fit into a 1U space in the rack (such as a 1U server, or 1U switch) can such equipment be installed in the existing rack?
The existing rack in 2nd floor of the tower is belong to another program, no new equipment can be installed in it due to already space limitation. A new rack is required.
56 If no new equipment is permitted in the existing rack on the ATCT 2nd floor, is the installation of a second 4-post server cabinet of similar design permitted to be installed next to (to the left of, or behind) the existing rack? This question mainly concerns space limitations in the room, and availability of 4-post rack space.

Room #104 is across the hall from Comm Room #106 about 10 feet away. The closet with cables marked PD#1-18 at the end of hallway is about 100 feet from Comm Room #106.
67 From the Q&A, for Fire Dept 2 it was stated new home runs are needed back to the Comm room #106. Are any new home runs required for Fire Dept 1 back to its’ Comm room? If so, how many and what are the distances?
At Fire Dept 1, all cables from the sleeping quarters are running back to Comm Room #219, home runs cable may not require, but patch or link cable is required, it’s about 15 feet.
