About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for federal contract opportunity FA910126QB018 issued by the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), a federal agency. The document addresses vendor inquiries regarding the procurement of two new air compressors for the VKF Plant building.
Key technical and logistical details include: the compressors will be installed indoors on the ground floor of the VKF Plant building, accessible via two large roll-up doors less than 75 feet away; AEDC will provide a 40-ton overhead crane and/or forklift to support installation; the vendor is responsible for making electrical connections on the backside of 480V electrical disconnects for each compressor, as AEDC will provide only piping connections; adequate air storage (600-1,000 gallons) is available on-site; and the vendor should supply compressed air to AEDC's existing dryer and filtration system in accordance with performance parameters specified in the Statement of Objectives (SOO) Attachment 1. The procurement is subject to the Buy American Act per FAR RFQ 52.225-1. Additionally, AEDC will be responsible for disposal of the existing compressors, and the agency is open to vendor suggestions for improving the existing condensation collection system. No current contract or incumbent exists for this requirement, as the solicitation is in its initial phase. Site photographs will be provided through the Information Release Agreement (IRA) process.
