Duke Field ATCT Relocation Q&A as of 17 Jun 2011

1. Will the contractor be responsible for providing 4” x 4” boxes and receptacles for power to the racks on the 4th and 5th floors? Or are those boxes and receptacles being provided by the general contractor?

The MCP drawings show quad outlets in 4x4 j-boxes connected to the lc and ld power distribution panels. My recommendation is that the quad outlet be replaced by a single twist lock L5-20R outlet for; the MCT rack, ILS rack, and GRC/LMR rack, plus a L5-30R is required for the DALR rack. Power cord and plug matching each outlet, should be provided.

The STARS power source for the two floor mounted UPS units will require new 4x4 boxes with twist lock outlet and flex conduit. I recommend mounting these to the side of the STARS RT rack.

I mentioned a STARS GPS antenna previously. Please disregard there is no STARS RT GPS antenna.

2. A swing boom is located outside of 5th floor equipment room. Can it be weight tested for use by the contractors?

The swing boom is not recommended for use on this project due to its age.

3. It has come to our attention that Crenlo is not the manufacturer of the ATCT console. Will the console panel where the GRA-115 is being mounted have a cutout that will allow the contractor to mount the contractor fabricated GRA-115 components?

Yes, the consoles will have the appropriate cut outs for the GR-115 panels at the time of installation.
