3.2.13.7 Performance Value: If applicable, data to support spectrum certification (DD Form t4e4) (r/o).
3.2.13.8 Rationale: USB-wired connections are needed for BAO SWC operations. System should have cable-free SWC interface. Should be capable of protecting classified data in transit and at rest. Should have multi-level security agile dynamic key distribution capable of supporting mobile coalition environments. Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), if required, will be developed and accredited by appropriate activity. Remote connections are needed to increase operator survivability by reducing operator's exposure to threats and hazards.
3.2.14 LOS-S Field Maintenance and Supportability (APA - Level 1).
3.2.I4.I Discussion: System must be a single operator capability, which requires a minimum number of tools (example: a single phillips-head screwdriver).
3.2.14.2 Performance Value: Any required tools shall be equal to those normally carried by the operator, or those normally found in the tactical environment (example: multi-tool, coins, bullet, lens cleaner, etc.) (T). The system should require no-support items necessary to maintain the system (O).
3.2.14.3 Rationale: LOS-S tactical employment environments demand that it is operated by a single person and does not require special accessories, support items and tools not normally carried into field conditions.
3.2.15 LOS-S Laser Spot Pointing/Tracking/Recognition (APA - Level 1).
3.2.15.1 Discussion: Operator needs to veriff that the intended target is being lased correctly to assist with achieving the anti-fratricide requirement and engagement'
3.2.15.2 Performance Value: The system shall include the ability to verify designation and pointing of the intended targetand shall indicate the position of the laser energy (T). The ability to verify other designator sources (O).
3.2.15.3 Performance Value: Designation will comply with STAN AG 3733 and 3875, i'e., all
North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) pulse repetition frequency (PRF) designation codes
(T) PIM Codes (O). Pointer will be interoperable with night vision goggles (T) (example: lw 860-880nm continuous wave (CW) and flashing pointer).
3.2.15.4 Rationale: Nothing other than a laser will guide or cue laser-guided weapons and sensors. The laser spot tracking (LST) and recognition capability ensures LOS-S is "hitting" the right target. The LST shall also be capable of detecting PRF laser designation by other compatible lasers.
3.2.16 LOS-S Target Recognition (APA - Level 1)'
3.2.16.1 Discussion: Target recognition is LOS-S's ability to have suitable resolution to be able to recognize specific targets at necessary ranges from 25m to 3km.
3.2.16.2 Performance Value: System shall detect standard 2mby 2m NATO targets and optics from operator out to 3km (T). System should automatically identify standard NATO targets from operator out to 5km or greater (o)' pageg of L2
3.2.16.3 Rationale: Opcsators mr¡st be ablc to recognize hrgots at sta¡doffroges to incrcase srvivability and redr¡ce ohscrvability.
