About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) response document issued by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) addressing inquiries related to solicitation FA8601-26-Q-0016 for OBL-WN/SCARS 4th Floor Furniture.
The document clarifies four key points regarding the furniture procurement. First, regarding systems furniture, the specification is drawn generically with no specific basis of design, and contractors may use any manufacturer rather than being restricted to the listed manufacturers (Haworth, Teknion, Allsteel, Miller/Knoll, and Steelcase). Second, communication outlet requirements specify 2 Knock-Out Voice Data Quad Port allocations per cubicle without physical faceplates. Third, the exact locations of power in panels for each office and workstation are shown on the attached plan view drawings, which include labeled power-data and power-power outlet locations marked with specific notations. Fourth, the intended contract award date is FY26, prior to September 30th. The document was issued on 13 May 2026 and signed by Candice Snow, the Contracting Officer for AFLCMC/PZIBA.

1. The Basis of Design is listed as Haworth, Teknion, Allsteel, Miller/Knoll, and Steelcase for Systems Furniture. It looks like the specifications are done in AIS. Do we have to stick to the Basis of Design of Haworth, Teknion, Allsteel, Miller/Knoll, and Steelcase, or are we open to use any manufacturer?
Answer: NO, AIS is not the basis of design. Drawn generically with no basis. You can use any manufacturer.
2. Per the documents provided, we are required to provide communication outlet faceplates. Please confirm how many cables and what type of configuration for each workstation layout.
Answer: 2 Knock-Out Voice Data Quad Port Per Cubicle, no faceplate just the knockout allocation.
3. Please confirm the exact locations of power in the panels for each office and workstation, as the plan view does not specify.
4. What is the intended award date?
