About this file
This file is a Response to Inquiries document issued by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) regarding solicitation FA8601-26-Q-0016 for OBL-WN/SCARS 4th Floor Furniture. The document addresses 29 questions and answers from potential offerors regarding project specifications, delivery requirements, and furniture configuration details.
Key project details include an intended award date in FY26 prior to September 30, 2026, with installation anticipated to begin in mid-September 2026. The facility is currently under construction, and no pre-award site visit will be scheduled; future site visits will be coordinated with the successful contractor post-award. Delivery involves a loading/receiving dock and passenger elevator, with the distance from dock to destination spanning the length of the plan. The contracting officer clarifies that systems furniture specifications are drawn generically with no basis of design constraint, allowing offerors to use any furniture manufacturer. Communication outlet requirements specify 2 Knock-Out Voice Data Quad Port per cubicle without faceplates, with the COMM vendor responsible for faceplate installation. Power poles are required per attached 01PLN coordinated with construction plans, and a 3-inch panel is mandatory (2.6-inch panels are not acceptable). All furniture must be freestanding; wall mounting is not permitted. For specific typicals (F1A, F1B, H, H2, PO2-D, PO1C, PO2D, PO3-E, TT-1), the contracting officer provides clarifications on component specifications including worksurface depths of 22 inches, lateral file widths of 36 inches (not 30 inches), power strips with 6 outlets, and manufacturer standard configurations for hutches, tackboards, and markerboards. The authorized dealer requirement may be satisfied through subcontractors or teaming partners. Additionally, questions regarding signage are referred to specification CTS33 for fire extinguisher requirements, while office signage such as room numbers and names falls within the furniture package scope.
