Text version

RFI 2

Section 28 05 27, Part 2.1 of the specification package reads:

"The system shall communicate digitally to the main fire alarm system panel. All digital parameters of the VESDA panel such as % obscuration, % filter dirty, etc, shall be communicated digitally to the panel. Systems that integrate to the main fire alarm system via a series of addressable dry contact modules to communicate alarm, trouble, supervisory, and other condition are not acceptable. The connection between the VESDA panel and the fire alarm panel must be a digital connection via a digital signaling line circuit."

It is our understanding that there is only one manufacturer that makes this type of system. The others communicate via the dry contact modules that this paragraph specifically excludes. Is this an attempt to sole source this system? If not, could you please provide a list of manufacturers that are capable of communicating as specified?
