3.1.2 Install additional poly as necessary to protect areas and equipment that could not be relocated.

3.1.3 All contaminated materials shall be wetted with water before, during, and after removal, as well as during bagging.

3.1.4 All cuts shall be by hand with non powered equipment.

3.1.8 Remove and discard contaminated sound isolation panels where applicable. See drawings.

3.1.9 Remove and discard multi-layer of gypsum board and wall insulation. All cuts are to be straight and level, in order to provide a clean edge for new material at area of demo.

3.1.5 All affected wall cavities including conduit, studs, exterior surfaces, and floor area shall be treated with Fungicide. Bleach solutions are not permitted.

3.1.6 Poly within affected wall cavities shall be sprayed with Fungicide. Bleach solutions are not permitted.

3.1.7 All poly removed shall be bagged and treated as mold contaminated material upon removal.

3.1.10 Provide dumpster for contaminated debris removal. See 3.8 Hazardous Material for additional info regarding material handling/disposal.

3. 2 CONSTRUCTION: Includes installation of new batt insulation, installation of new mold resistant gypsum wall board, priming/painting affected walls, and installation of new sound insulation panels

(select locations). Inspection of wall cavities shall be performed by government prior to installation of new material. Refer to section 3.8, below.

3.2.1 Rooms 104 (Phase 1 and 2) and 112:

Utilizing a laser level to ensure a clean, straight and level edge, cut sound insulation panels at

30” A.F.F. and remove lower portion.

Cut and remove lower 24” of gypsum wall board, and replace with new mold resistant gypsum wall board. Match number of layers and thickness of each layer (two layers of 5/8” gyp is assumed) to achieve original thickness.

Prior to installation of new gypsum wall board, also remove lower 24” of batt insulation, treat wall cavity with fungicide, and install new batt insulation following inspection approval.

Following gypsum board and primer application, install transition break with new sound insulation panel below. Assume 1 1/2” panel thickness. Coordinate fabric selection with

88ABW/CECM (civil engineering) approval to ensure a complimentary fabric and color is chosen.

Install new cove base, matching original.

Note: See 3.6 Finishes, below for additional information.

3.2.1 Room 113:

Utilizing a laser level to ensure a clean, straight and level edge, cut sound insulation panels at

30” A.F.F. and remove lower portion.

Cut and remove lower 24” of gypsum wall board, and replace with new mold resistant gypsum wall board. Install multiple layers in order to create a flush wall surface. Assume 1 1/2” panel thickness and accommodate for removed wall board. New wall board surface shall extend to bottom of sound isolation panels, 30” A.F.F.

Prior to installation of new gypsum wall board, also remove lower 24” of batt insulation, treat wall cavity with fungicide, and install new batt insulation following inspection approval.

Also, prior to installation of new gypsum wall board, install transition break at bottom of panel.

Prime and paint new gyp board surface. See sections 3.0 and 4.0.3 for additional info, below.

3.2.2 Room 108:

Release lower 36” of wall covering, and temporarily secure overhead in order to expose contaminated gypsum wallboard. Ensure wall covering condition is not compromised during the process.

Following exposure of gypsum wall board, remove lower 24” of gypsum wall board, and replace with new mold resistant gypsum wall board –match number of layers and thickness of each layer

(two layers of 5/8” gyp is assumed) to achieve original thickness.

Prior to installation of new gypsum wall board, also remove lower 24” of batt insulation, treat wall cavity with fungicide, and install new batt insulation following inspection approval.

Following gypsum board and primer application, reattach wall covering with proper wall covering adhesive.
