About this file
This is a Vendor Asked Questions with Answers document that addresses four key inquiries regarding a federal contract for 2-post lift replacement equipment and Conformal Fuel Tank (CFT) handling.
The document clarifies that six 2-post lifts are to be replaced, organized as three double-sided lift configurations, with each double-sided unit containing four posts total and designed to hold both left-hand and right-hand CFTs with independent controls on each side. Vendors are permitted to use custom configurations from the current setup. A CFT weighs 2,125 pounds. For packaging and shipping, the government will provide existing crates previously used for car lift storage, and the vendor is responsible for disassembling the lifts and packing them into the provided crates, with the government ensuring crates are on-site before disassembly begins. No specific palletization standards or requirements are imposed beyond using the government-provided crates.

Vendor Asked Questions with Answers
Can any custom from current configuration be used?
- Yes, that is perfectly fine.
How much does a CFT weigh?
- 2,125lbs
Can you verify that the total amount of 2-post lift sets to be replaced is actually six (6)?
- Yes, (6) is the actual number of 2-post lifts. We have been referring to them as (3) double sided lifts. That means each double sided lift is comprised of 4 posts in all (Two 2-post lifts connected together). One side of each double-sided lift holds a Left-Hand Conformal Fuel Tank and the other side holds a Right-Hand Conformal Fuel Tank. Each Double-Sided Lift is basically just two 2-Post lifts flipped around to pickup from the outside and connected together at the top. This makes each side of the lift act like a counterweight for the other side. I imagine the vendor will do a similar configuration to what we have now. Both sides need to have independent controls from one another. So yes, 6 two-post lifts (3 for left hand CFTs and 3 right hand CFTs).
Can you provide specific requirements/standards for palletization of these lifts?
- I found out that we do still have the crates we used to store the Car Lifts in a while back.
So the government will provide crates. The vendor will be responsible for packing the disassembled lifts into the crates. I’ll make sure the crates are on site before disassembly starts.
