About this file
This is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document with answers addressing vendor inquiries about the car lift replacement requirement. The document clarifies that custom configurations from the current setup are acceptable and provides critical specifications for the equipment being replaced. The lifts in question are six two-post lifts (configured as three double-sided units), with each double-sided lift comprising two 2-post lifts connected together to function as counterweights for one another. Each side of the double-sided lift must maintain independent controls and hold a 5,000-pound lifting capacity per side, totaling 10,000 pounds capacity per double-sided unit. One side of each double-sided lift holds a Left-Hand Conformal Fuel Tank while the other side holds a Right-Hand Conformal Fuel Tank.
Regarding logistics and delivery, the document specifies that a CFT (Conformal Fuel Tank) weighs 2,125 pounds. The government will provide crates for palletization that were previously used to store the car lifts, and the vendor is responsible for disassembling the lifts and packing them into the provided crates prior to shipment. No specific palletization standards were mandated beyond the use of the government-supplied crates. This FAQ document supports the RFQ FA857126Q0042 issued by the Air Force Sustainment Center at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, with quotes due by February 18, 2026.

Vendor Asked Questions with Answers
Can any custom from current configuration be used?
· Yes, that is perfectly fine.
How much does a CFT weigh?
· 2,125lbs
Can you verify that the total amount of 2-post lift sets to be replaced is actually six (6)?
· Yes, (6) is the actual number of 2-post lifts. We have been referring to them as (3) double sided lifts. That means each double sided lift is comprised of 4 posts in all (Two 2-post lifts connected together). One side of each double-sided lift holds a Left-Hand Conformal Fuel Tank and the other side holds a Right-Hand Conformal Fuel Tank. Each Double-Sided Lift is basically just two 2-Post lifts flipped around to pickup from the outside and connected together at the top. This makes each side of the lift act like a counterweight for the other side. I imagine the vendor will do a similar configuration to what we have now. Both sides need to have independent controls from one another. So yes, 6 two-post lifts (3 for left hand CFTs and 3 right hand CFTs).
Can you provide specific requirements/standards for palletization of these lifts?
· I found out that we do still have the crates we used to store the Car Lifts in a while back. So the government will provide crates. The vendor will be responsible for packing the disassembled lifts into the crates. I’ll make sure the crates are on site before disassembly starts.
What is the lifting capacity of the lift?
· Assuming they will be installing a similar style Double-Sided Lift like we have now, each side should hold a 5,000lb lift capacity. That would be 10,000lb capacity in all.
